Honors Youth Choir Scholarships

Chorus North Shore is pleased to offer a one-time $1000 scholarship to a qualified student who will graduate from a North Shore public, private or home school and who will be attending a school of higher learning which offers a concentration of study in the area of Choral Arts.

Eligibility:

Open to all promising North Shore seniors who will graduate with satisfactory scholarship and who demonstrate a dedication and a contribution to Choral Arts.
Candidates must be planning to pursue a major in music with a concentration of study in the area of choral conducting, sacred music or vocal music education and must be accepted at a school of higher learning that has a course of study in those areas.

Application:

The application must be typed or neatly printed and returned by April 2, 2010 to the name and address listed at the bottom.

Selection:

The student selected for the scholarship will be recommended by the Scholarship Committee of Chorus North Shore to the Board of Trustees of Chorus North Shore. The recommendation will be based on talent and the strength of the application. Preference will be given to a student who has sung and performed with Chorus North Shore.

Award:

The Committee will notify the high school Guidance Department and the award certificate will be presented at ceremonies at the graduating high school. To receive the scholarship money, the recipient must show that freshman music courses have been completed during the first semester at the school of higher learning, and that he or she is a student in good standing. If the student is on academic or other probation, proof must be given that the probationary status has been lifted. The scholarship money will be awarded directly to the student at the end of the first semester at the school of higher learning.
