Honors Youth Choir of the Chorus North ShoreIs on Hiatus for the 2022 Season

Giving students all along the North Shore a love and passion for music is a crucial part of Chorus North Shore’s mission. Out of this mission-driven effort came the premiere children’s choir of the area north of Boston.

Students aged 10 to 18 from the area comprise this SATB ensemble and they are given the opportunity to learn and perform choral masterworks.

The HYC performs twice every year, with the spring concert performed on the stage of Rockport’s exquisite Shalin Liu Performance Center.

For over ten years, the HYC has worked with area schools from Salem to Rockport (and beyond) as a cultural partner by inviting their students to participate in this excellent choral ensemble. As arts and cultural programs are steadily eroded in our schools, Chorus North Shore is poised to act as an outlet for the creativity that our students hold by offering participation in the HYC tuition-free.

Members of the Honors Youth Choir are selected by simple vocal audition.

Students must be able to attend scheduled rehearsals and concerts.
The Honors Youth Choir Artistic Director, Nate Haywood, and Executive Director/AccompanistDr. Frank Corbin bring their experience as educators and musicians to the planning and development of this special group.

Visit our Concert page for a listing of Honors Youth Choir concert dates.

The Honors Youth Choir of Chorus North Shore strives to accomplish several goals for the North Shore community:

Learn

Provide an avenue for young singers to learn basic vocal techniques and ear training.

Love

Introduce young singers to a life-long love of choral music.

Opportunity

Offer an opportunity for a children’s choir to work with a premier adult chorus and orchestra.

Accomplish

Reach out to a new audience in the communities we serve.
